The Green Bay Packers will be aiming to extend their current straight-up win streak to six games when they host the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday in NFC Divisional Playoff action as 4-point favorites on the NFL betting odds.
After failing to advance to the NFL playoffs in each of the past two years, Green Bay enjoyed an impressive resurgence this season, marching to a 13-3 SU record to capture the NFC North title, and is perched as the No. 2 seed in the NFC going into Sunday evening’s game at Lambeau Field.
The Packers have been rewarded for their recent success on the Super Bowl odds, where they sit just short of the favorites as a +700 wager, and also trail only the San Francisco 49ers with strong +275 odds of claiming their first NFC championship since 2010. Green Bay has also re-established its dominance on home turf this season, posting SU wins in seven of eight dates at Lambeau, ending a middling 6-6-1 SU run that dated back to September 2017.
Green Bay’s success has been built on a sturdy defense. The Packers ranked ninth during this NFL football season while allowing just 19.6 points per game, and have held opponents to 16 or fewer points in five of their eight home dates, including each of their past three. With opponents struggling to find the end zone, the UNDER has produced steady returns in totals betting, prevailing in seven of Green Bay’s past eight contests, and four of the team’s past five home dates.
The Packers offense has failed to run up the score during recent outings, averaging fewer than 22 points per game over their past four contests. As a result, Green Bay has produced uneven results on the NFL lines, covering the NFL spread in just four of eight outings to fall to 10-6 ATS on the season.
The Seahawks travel to Green Bay after posting a 17-9 win in Philadelphia on Wild Card weekend and paying out as 1-point underdogs on the NFL odds. Hobbled by injury, Seattle has posted just two SU wins in its past five overall contests, but has consistently risen to the occasion on the road. With their victory over the Eagles, the Seahawks improved to 8-1 SU in nine dates away from CenturyLink Field this season, including four outright wins as underdogs in NFL betting.
However, in addition to their current two-game SU losing streak in NFC Divisional Playoff contests, the Seahawks are also winless SU in eight straight trips to Lambeau Field, and sport a dismal 1-6-1 ATS record during that stretch.
Chiefs Seek Revenge on Texans as Heavy Favorites
Earlier on Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs will be looking to avenge a 31-24 loss to Houston when they host the Texans as 9.5-point favorites. With quarterback Patrick Mahomes battling a rash of injuries, the Chiefs failed to keep pace with the Texans in their Week 6 defeat.
With a return to health down the stretch, Mahomes and the Chiefs have been dominant during a six-game SU win streak, outscoring opponents by a wide 143-69 margin during that stretch. The Chiefs’ surge has lifted them to +200 favorites to be the team to score the most points this weekend, with Mahomes pegged as +150 chalk to rack up the most passing yards.
The Texans punched their ticket to the second round with a 23-20 comeback win over the Buffalo Bills as 2.5-point home chalk last weekend. However, with Houston averaging just 14.2 points per game over its past five playoff contests, the team lags as a distant +3500 bet to claim their first Super Bowl crown.
