FSB Appoints Russell Colvin as Head of Retail Sales

Gambling industry veteran joins from Playtech BGT Sports and will be responsible for taking the FSB, the market-leading gambling technology provider, has strengthened its Business Development team with the appointment of Russell Colvin as Head of Retail Sales. Colvin will be responsible for driving sales of FSB’s innovative retail products, including its Self Service Betting Terminal and EPoS systems, in regulated markets around the world. Colvin brings with him over 20 years of experience in sports betting, from both the operator and supplier side, having worked for industry giants such as Coral, Global Draw and Scientific Games along the way. Most recently Colvin worked for Playtech’s BGT Sports division where he held the role of Commercial Director. Remote Darts League

This weekend will see the welcome addition of new live sports content – courtesy of the recently formed Remote Darts League (RDL). Over a 10-day period starting Saturday 18 th at 21:30pm GMT, 10 professional WDF players, including Jim Williams who tops the BDO rankings, will be competing for the inaugural RDL trophy, plus of course the bragging rights. It all culminates on day 10 with the top 4 players in the league competing in a semi/finals knockout contest. After a couple of days respite, a new tournament starts again. Players are playing from home and have been practising hard with the remote technology to make this a great spectacle. £25k in prize money is up for grabs, so this is fun, but serious fun. FSB names Andrew Bowen as new CFO

Sports betting platform and systems provider FSB has strengthened its leadership team after appointing Andrew Bowen as its new chief financial officer. Prior to his new role, Bowen has accrued a number of years of senior-level experience in corporate and operational finance across the gambling sectors having previously served as the Finance Director of the eGaming Division at Ladbrokes. From there, Bowen then went on to become the Finance Director for the Gaming Division at Scientific Games, where he oversaw the group’s strategy to support strategic partnerships across a number of key gaming markets. FSB ready to relieve “buyer’s remorse” in the US

      FSB is ready to enter the US market after securing significant working capital from Toronto-based private equity firm Clairvest this summer. Speaking at last month’s Betting on Sports conference, FSB CEO Dave McDowell admitted that he was careful not to overpromise and underdeliver when the US market initially opened last year. However, with the support of Clairvest, he thinks that his company has put in place “the right architecture” which allows it to “deploy different enterprise solutions across multiple states and aggregate the data into a common central risk management team.” He also suggested that there is plenty of “buyer’s remorse” amongst those operators who made knee-jerk supplier choices around what was available in order to go live quickly. “It’s blatantly obvious that the US is going to be one of the largest regulated sports betting markets in the next five years,” added McDowell. “We need to be there, but what we’re trying to do is leverage o...
