- Scroll below for updated odds to win each AFC division after the NFL’s 53-man roster cutdowns
- A healthy Ben Roethlisberger will unlock an underrated Steelers (+300) receiving corps
- The Titans (+170) will win a tight AFC South race over the Colts (+120) and Texans (+332)
For a while there, it was fair to wonder if there would even be a 2020 NFL Season. But here we are, just days away from the Texans/Chiefs season opener.
With 53-man roster cutdowns complete, the only thing left to do now is play some football. Below, we review the odds in every AFC division and offer our best bets.
ODDS TO WIN AFC EAST
Teams | Odds |
Buffalo Bills | +110 |
New England Patriots | +150 |
Miami Dolphins | +700 |
New York Jets | +850 |
PATRIOTS WIN AFC EAST (+150)
The Bills (+110) have assembled the deepest roster in the division, but no quarterback has more pressure on him this season than Josh Allen. Half the internet thinks he stinks and the other half are offering him up as an MVP longshot.
Count me among the former. Buffalo only beat one playoff team in 2019 and are now scheduled to face the league’s fifth-toughest slate of games. Meanwhile, the Patriots (+150) did exactly what we predicted back in March and brought in Cam Newton to replace Tom Brady.

Unmatched energy.

Despite a lack of skill-position talent in New England, Cam is set to have a monster season with offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels calling the shots.
ODDS TO WIN AFC NORTH
Teams | Odds |
Baltimore Ravens | -180 |
Pittsburgh Steelers | +300 |
Cleveland Browns | +525 |
Cincinnati Bengals | +1800 |
STEELERS WIN AFC NORTH (+300)
Baltimore (-180) is a deserving favorite in the division after making smart trades (Calais Campbell) and draft picks (J.K. Dobbins) in the offseason, but MVP campaigns like the one Lamar Jackson put together last year have proven impossible to replicate throughout NFL history.
There’s also the fact that the Steelers (+300) could be downright dominant on both sides of the ball with Defensive Player of the Year runner-up T.J. Watt primed for another sackalicious season and linebacker Devin Bush poised to be even better in his sophomore year.

While the entire offense hinges on the condition of Ben Roethlisberger’s throwing shoulder, people may be underestimating just how lethal Pittsburgh’s aerial attack could be with JuJu Smith-Schuster, Diontae Johnson, James Washington and rookie breakout candidate Chase Claypool.
ODDS TO WIN AFC SOUTH
Teams | Odds |
Indianapolis Colts | +120 |
Tennessee Titans | +170 |
Houston Texans | +325 |
Jacksonville Jaguars | +2500 |
TITANS WIN AFC SOUTH (+170)
Long one of the most boring divisions in all of football, the AFC South has some serious juice this year. The Colts (+120) signed veteran signal-caller Philip Rivers, traded for Pro Bowl defensive lineman DeForest Buckner and drafted one of the most prolific college running backs of all time in Jonathan Taylor.
The Texans (+325) went the other direction with Bill O’Brien famously trading away DeAndre Hopkins for David Johnson and picks, but Deshaun Watson is talented enough to cover up all of his head coach’s mistakes. There’s a reason he was signed to a new four-year, $156 million extension, after all.

Still, we’re rolling with the Titans (+170). With most expecting both Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry to regress, we think the offense can get even better with star receiver A.J. Brown just entering his second year. Tennessee’s defense also just added Jadeveon Clowney to pair with monstrous defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, who could become a household name in his sophomore season.
ODDS TO WIN AFC WEST
Teams | Odds |
Kansas City Chiefs | -450 |
Los Angeles Chargers | +850 |
Denver Broncos | +900 |
Las Vegas Raiders | +1200 |
CHIEFS WIN AFC WEST (-450)
This one of course doesn’t need much explanation. Patrick Mahomes and the defending Super Bowl champions will likely be even better on offense after drafting Offensive Rookie of the Year candidate Clyde Edwards-Helaire at the running back position.
With every other team in the division entering the season with iffy quarterback play, the question is not if Kansas City (-450) will win the AFC West, but whether any of their “rivals” can even muster up a .500 record.
