With the Coronovirus shutting down most major sports worldwide, Pay Per Head agents have the tough task of keeping their players busy.
With that goal in mind, we’ve compiled a list of events you can actually bet on over the next few weeks.
Fight sports are not tapping out
Despite the cancelation of a number of boxing events recently, there are still some fights of note for us to enjoy watching and wagering on. They include:
Anthony Yarder vs Lyndon Arthur | April 11th, 2020
These two British light-heavyweights will clash at the O2 Arena with both gunning for a world title shot. They are each coming off very tough fights and will look to get back on track. Yarde made the mistake of jumping up a class and got knocked out by WBO World Champion Sergey Kovalev. While Arthur did manage a win in his last bout, he only just beat Emmanuel Anim on the scorecard to earn the Commonwealth title.
Mairis Briedis vs Yunier Dorticos | April 16th
This bout in the World Boxing Super Series cruiserweight tournament will have both the IBF & Ring Magazine titles on the line. After being stuck in the mud due to sanctioning body issues, this fight will finally go down after months of delay.
Yunier Dorticos defends his world title at 200 pounds against two-time titleholder Mairis Briedis for DAZN. The bout will go down at the Arena Riga in Latvia with the Muhammed Ali Trophy on the line.
While the UFC did eventually agree to postpone their next few events, there are still a few options to bet on MMA. The major event here would be Cage Warriors 113 which is scheduled to air on Friday, March 20th on the UFC Fight Pass network. The Co-Main event at CW113 will see Joe McColgan and Mason Jones face off for the vacant light heavyweight title.
There are also still odds posted for many future fights including the next Wilder vs Fury boxing match and also the next couple of UFC events.
There is, technically, a third option when looking to bet on fight sports. Professional Wrestling. Yes, while this virus has seen yet another XFL season fail, Vince Macmahon will not allow the outbreak to delay his brand’s biggest asset.
Wrestlemania.
It was announced the event will be moved from its original venue to the back parking lot of the WWE Performance Center with no fans in attendance. It is actually set to be a pretty big event with names such as Conor McGregor, Mike Tyson, Cain Velasquez and Rob Gronkowski expected to appear. There are even props available for whether Tyson Fury makes an appearance as an in-ring performer. While many scoff at the idea of betting on WWE, we think many will take what they can get.
eSports- a safe bet for social distancing and entertainment
If there is a silver lining in any of this as far as sports betting goes, it might be eSports. See, we believe that eSports is going to play a huge part in the future of sports wagering worldwide.
Tournaments worldwide are still plugging away for games like Counter-Strike, DOTA 2, League of Legends, Overwatch, Rocket League, StarCraft II and many more. Some games even have long term futures for you to bet on such as the Call of Duty League.

Spectator-less golf; you can still watch online or television and bet
Golf when played normally is essentially a form of social distancing. You can compete with people you literally never see and are routinely hundreds of yards away from the closest possible infected. While many find it boring to watch, the fact of the matter is, it is better than watching the world fall apart so let’s check out what we have to enjoy in the near future.
The next Major will take place in San Francisco in May (maybe) but there is actually an All-Pro Tour going down this weekend. The Paragon Casino Championship runs through the weekend and offers players the opportunity to bet on some high-quality golf while the PGA takes a short hiatus.
The current odds to win the tournament down in Louisiana are:
- Kramer Hickock +700
- Tom Lovelady +1400
- Braden Bailey +1600
- Sam Fidone +2000
- Ryan Baca +2000
- Cory Chucherman +3000
- James Anstiss +3000
- Andrew Loupe +4000
- AJ McInerney +6000
- Austin Eckroat +6000
Additionally, there are many futures available for a number of upcoming events including the ever-popular Ryder Cup, along with props on individual accomplishments for the likes of Tiger Woods, Brooks Koepka and Rory Mcllroy.
Lower soccer leagues are still playing in Europe
While most every significant league in the European Soccer game has suspended operations due to the outbreak, a few of the lower-level ones are still up and running. The following leagues have games going on this weekend and next week as things currently sit.
- Australia A League
- Australia Victorian Premier League
- Bahrain Premier League
- Brazil Campeonato Amapaense
- Brazil Campeonato Paulist
- Chile Primera Division
- Chile Primera B
- Copa de la Superliga Argentina
- Primera División de Guatemala
- Primera Nacional Argentina
- Russia Premier League
- Singapore S League
- Torneo Federal A Argentina
- Turkey Super Liga
- Turkey 1st Liga
Not the most glamorous bunch in this list, but its enough action to give your soccer diehards something to keep them busy during this crisis.
Betting on entertainment, current events & politics
These types of prop bets don’t always get a lot of attention during most periods for sports bettors. But, given the current situation facing the industry, they are in line for a big spike.
Nobody knows how long we will have to wait to see professional sports return to the United States. But you still try to make a buck on which league will try. There are props available for which league, the MLB, NBA, NHL or MLS, will be the first to play a regular-season game. The NBA is favored at 2/1 for those interested.
Other alternatives that seem wild are betting on the national spelling bee in May, who wins the Powerball Jackpot next weekend or even a professional eating contest. Odds for BTC price or weather at your local airport are things you can actually bet on. Trojan Condom stock price, Survivor Series 40 and how much PorHub profits spike over this period of quarantine.
If you can dream it, you can bet it.
Perhaps the most relevant example of this would be betting on the 2020 US Presidential Election. Obviously odds to win the presidency, which party wins, and nominees are the most popular. But there are also a number of Trump specific props to keep you entertained.
In summation, while things are far from ideal for the sports betting community, it’s not 100% hopeless. There are still things on offer each day for PayPerHead agents to offer up for their clients to keep busy until the world rights itself.
