PGA Tour Betting – Upcoming Events & Wagers Players Must Know

Like UFC and NASCAR, the Professional Golf Association is back in business. Read about everything bookies must know to promote golf betting.

Grass, iron, and great swings. That’s all you need for a golf tournament in the social distancing, COVID-19 era of sports.

Unlike the NBA and NHL, golf doesn’t need crowds. It also doesn’t require athlete to athlete interaction. It’s the perfect remedy for the coronavirus pro-sports infection.

It’s no surprise the PGA Tour is one of the first U.S. sports leagues, along with UFC and NASCAR, to make a triumphant return.

A significant sport with minimal restrictions, PGA Tournaments can provide excellent online sports betting experiences.

Upcoming 2020 PGA Tour Events

On June 11, PGA Tour returned with the Charles Schwab Challenge first round. Already, bookies have benefited from golf betting options.

As per head agents learn about the event’s success, expect bettors to check PGA Tour odds before players tee off.

Here’s a list of upcoming PGA Tournaments.

Events

June 18-21: RBC Heritage – Harbour Town Golf Links

June 25-28: Travelers Championship – TPC River Highlands

July 2-5: Rocket Mortgage Classic – Detroit Golf Club

July 16-19: the Memorial Tournament pres. By Nationwide – Muirfield Village GC

Because of the golf shutdown, pros feel a sense of urgency to get back on the grass. Most big names will compete in the Travelers Championship and the Memorial.

Those two PGA Tour events offer massive purses. The Travelers Championship has an over $7 million purse. The prize money for the Memorial is over $9 million.

The June 18 through 21 RBC Heritage also attracted a considerable group of pro golfers. Of the 154 players that competed at the RBC,114 had won at least one PGA Tour event.

That’s the most PGA event winners in any single tournament.

Rory Mcllroy, the No .1 ranked player in the world, and favorite to win the 2020 PGA Championship, played in the RBC for the first time since 2009. John Rahm, Justin Thomas, Brooks Koepka, and Dustin Johnson also competed.

A run-of-the-mill PGA Tour event like the RBC Heritage drew pros like it was the Masters.

Although top golfers like McIlroy have entered smaller tournaments, it doesn’t mean they’re playing like PGA Tour versions of the “Last Dance” Chicago Bulls.

Stars like Brooks Koepka struggled at the Charles Schwab. Koepka finished tied for 32nd.

For now, trust the odds. But, also set betting limits. You’ll get a better sense of what Mcllroy and golf’s other stars are capable of after a couple more of these less famous tournaments.

Don’t wait for the U.S. Open, PGA Championship, or Masters to interest players in betting on golf. Name drop players like Rory, Jon Rahm, and Brooks Koepka to garner interest in golf wagering.

Best bets for betting clients

Sportsbook clients should salivate over any professional sports betting option. Players who knew nothing about mixed-martial arts or stock car racing wagered on NASCAR and UFC in the past couple of weeks.

Your sports betting platform provides a standard, easy-to-understand, list of wagers for every golf tournament. Use your betting platform to draw even the most casual fan’s interest.

Odds to Win

For both casual players and sharp players, the most popular golf bet is to win.

It’s rare for any player on the PGA Tour to provide Tiger Woods-like domination. Don’t be surprised if top pros like McIlroy and Jon Rahm offer overlay golf odds.

Head-to-Head

Head-to-head golf betting provides an exciting alternative from win wagering. Also, let players know they can bet on rounds and, sometimes, even each hole.

Check your sportsbook wagering platform to know which golf sports wagering options to promote.

3-Ball Betting

Bookies must advertise head-to-head and 3-ball betting.

3-ball provides distinct wagering opportunities throughout a tournament. And like head-to-head betting, 3-ball has the option to risk dollars on every round.

Bookies should set max betting limits. Big-name golfers can affect odds at smaller courses and tend to get over bet.

But big-name golfers also seem to win more than their fair share of 3-ball golf propositions.

Live Betting

Live betting golf provides your players with a unique wagering experience. By making bets while a tournament happens, players get closer to the grass than with any other wager.

With live golf betting, players feel the excitement on every single hole. Standard head-to-head and 3-ball bets are available to bet live.

Players can even wager on whether a golfer scores a birdie, par, or bogey.

But, as with most live betting offers, keep the limits manageable. Sharp players are always looking for live betting opportunities to exploit.

The PGA is not a major sports league, meaning there’s still time to get sportsbook software for no per head fees

The Professional Golf Association isn’t the NBA or NHL. Per head agents can offer wagers on golf until the NBA, NHL, or MLB returns to action.

That means PayPerHead agents pay zero fees to offer sportsbook services on the Travelers Championship, the Memorial Tournament, and any other PGA event until a significant U.S. sports game happens.

Sign-up for PayPerHead and offer the best sportsbook software available for free until a major sport returns.

One month into the college football season and things don’t really look how we expected.
